Roadtrip in Central Italy

Last week, while in Italy for my “Japan” exhibition, I took time to explore the area around Acquapendente: Tuscia. Little gems are everywhere: Acquapendente itself was a surprise, with its ancient architecture perfectly melted with the modern artworks and installations of the Urban Vision Festival. Not far away is Orvieto, with its majestic cathedral. Last but not least, the highlight of my trip: Civita di Bagnoregio, a little town perched on top of a hill whose isolation is the result of a continuous erosion that makes the tufa rock becoming thinner and thinner on an unstable layer of clay and sand altered by wind and rain. If you are visiting Rome and you have a couple of spare days it’s worth a visit!
